2026 Wednesday Night 9 Hole League Week 4 Results

The 4th week of actual play has been accomplished.  It was a nice warm night. It appeared that everyone was able to finish before it got too dark. All of the cards were accounted for by 8:16, which was good.   Don’t forget to fill out the back of the card and mark if there is a sub playing. Any sub playing can find their handicap in the blue binder where all of the league members are listed with their handicaps as of the date in the upper right top of the page.   Nolan Masterson had an EAGLE on hole# 17. GREAT!!! That made the rest of his score not look so bad.  There were only 15 total birdies and 1 eagle this week. Nolan was NOT-IN the skins. Lucky for the others that had birdies.   Mark Keller and Joe Vachuska each had 2 birdies.Â

The 3rd week of actual play has been accomplished.  It was cold and breezy AGAIN. It appeared that everyone was able to finish before it got too dark. All of the cards were accounted for by 8:15 which beat last week. UNBELIEVABLE!! Card were marked as to which tees were played which is great.    Don’t forget to fill out the back of the card and mark if there is a sub playing. Any sub playing can find their handicap in the blue binder where all of the league members are listed with their handicaps as of the date in the upper right top of the page.   Jay Radke took 8 points in Division 1. John Sams shot a 32 with four birdies.  There were only 12 total birdies this week with 1 of them not in the skins.   Alex Perez had 2 birdies.Â

2026 Wednesday Night 9 Hole League Week 1 Results

The 1st week of actual play has been accomplished. It was cold and windy. It appeared that everyone was able to finish before it got too dark. All of the cards were accounted for by 8:24 which is unusual. Please mark on you cards which tees are being played by each person. It avoids phone calls or emails later as I am verifying the info on the card. Make sure you circle any birdies or eagles. Thank you to all of you for getting off the tee times in an efficient manner. Don’t forget to fill out the back of the card and mark if there is a sub playing. Any sub playing can find their handicap in the blue binder where all of the league members are listed with their handicaps as of the date in the upper right top of the page. Make sure you check the white and gold tees and the front or back nine. There were 19 total birdies this week with 3 of them not in the skins. Tom Halla, Ken Kosanke, Alex Perex, Andy Fix and Peter Smith each had 2 birdies. The 7+ handicap skins from each division had no birdies so pars were used to figure the skins. GREETINGS – PRIOR TO FIRST NIGHT OF WEDNESDAY LEAGUE, MAY 6th, 2026
Greetings to returning members as well as the new members. If you are a new member and are lucky to be on a team for match play on Wednesday Night starting May 6th you are fortunate. We did not lose any teams this year. We have 5 players added to teams. Some are new, some have returned from prior years. The names of the players are Keegan Leckrone on Team 12, Nolan Masterson on Team 14, John Sams on Team 18, Krys Kormonick and Peter Delaney on Team 27.  The schedule is out on the website with all of the teams listed at the bottom. All teams have a new team# and maybe in a different division. Team 21 and Team 30 were switched from the previous schedule. Make sure you check for your team# and communicate with your other team participants. Everyone listed will be registered and paid by the start date
The first tee time this season starts at 4:32 for both sides which makes it so we will be done at least one tee time earlier than previous years and be able to finish in the light at the end of the season. Every team WILL tee off at their designated time whether or not all the members are present. Those that may be late will have to hitch a ride out to the course to join their match and will start at the tee in which everyone is present to play onward. That means, if you are late and go out to the course and your group has walked off the tee prior to you catching them you will have to wait and start at the next tee. Holes not played will be won by opponent. Those of you teeing off early the first few weeks should make sure you are at the course and ready to go when it is time.Â
If you are interested in participating in the SKINS event each week, the fee is $5. Make sure you signup on the correct sheet and place your money in the plastic bag corresponding to your handicap range and division#. Each 9 will have their own skins and holes will not cancel out holes from the other 9. The range of handicaps for the skins will start at less than 0 to 6 handicap and 7 and over for the other group. We will revert to pars if no birdies in the 7+ group and will carryover it needed. The scorecard should be filled out as indicated in the league book. If you play gold tees (seniors only) then you need to make sure it is indicated on the scorecard and you use the correct handicap from the listing provided for your side of play.Â
The first group off each side should take the event flags with them. The last foursome playing should pick them up as they finish.  There will be three flags for each 9 holes. You can thank Randy DeLaura for clarifying some of the flag events. There were 55 different players out of 96 flags that won a flag event last year.Â
All handicaps will listed on a separate sheet by division showing white and gold tees. If someone is subbing and you need to find a handicap for them they are in a separate blue binder at the table that Bob Hart will be at near the bar area prior to play.Â
All scorecards are audited by myself and any changes will be emailed to the member of the teams affected. You must POST your score as soon as possible after your round. Your score must also be adjusted if necessary prior to posting to WSGA. If you don’t post then there may be an adjustment made down the road to your team results. The maximum you can take for any hole is double bogey plus any handicap strokes you would receive for that hole. Those of you that are new and do not have a handicap will just record your scores as they happen and a handicap will be assigned after play and your match outcome will be tentatively determined. You will need at least 5 scores to establish a beginning handicap. The matches will then be refigured and adjustments made accordingly to the standings. The maximum handicap used during a nine-hole match in league play is 16. The WSGA handicap book may have you as a 17, 20 or even higher but you will have to use 16 for the match.Â
These are pretty much the basics for playing in the league. In addition, play by the rules, play the ball as it lies and accept your penalty strokes as they happen. Any questions as what to do in a situation, ask your partner, ask your opponent or tell your opponent what you are doing. Ask our resident rules expert, Joe Vachuska after the round for any clarification. Do not step in any area marked as a protected land area. Keep up the pace with those in front of you.Â
