  • Welcome to Thursday Night 9 Hole League 2024

Welcome to all of you who have joined the Thursday Night 9 Hole League for 2024.  We are happy to have you and looking for a great season this year with a heavy dose of the usual nonsense.

    Storylines to watch …

    • Will Joe V keep score?  Does he know what the scorecards look like? What’s the over/under on the number of pencils he has in his bag?
    • Will the 2023 Victims of the Relegator will come off the mat and fight back to Division 1 or will the other Division 2 teams rise up and make a statement?
    • Can Sanfelippo and Metzger repeat as Division 1 Champions or will their handicaps catch up to them?
    • Are Holzem and Pulvermacher working on matching unitards for one of their uniform ensembles for the 2024 season?  (I’m getting a sub.. can’t un-see something like that..)
    • Will TJ Dougherty become MJ Dougherty and carry the team on his back to get to the promised land??

One thing we know for certain is that the Relegator is rested and ready to go!  The long cold winter and some Florida relaxation has the stylin’, profilin’, limousine riding, cart girl chasing, jet flying, kiss-stealing, driver-off-the-deck swinging, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ son of a gun ready to go!  These ain’t no friendly scrambles, brother, this is 9 hole league play, where the concessions are short, the mockery is long, the uniforms are questionable and only the strongest survive.

Diamonds are forever, and so is the Relegator!! Whether you like it or not, learn to love it, because its the best thing going. Wooooo!

Play hard early fellas, don’t get relegated from Division 2!  There is no Division 3, but the Songbird Hills Tuesday morning ladies league has 3 team openings just waiting for you!

    Hi Boys!!!

You need to have a WSGA handicap, or you will be playing at a 0.  If you are a new member and had a WSGA handicap at a different course, that handicap is now linked to Wanaki. If you do not have a WSGA handicap, you need to post 18 hole scores ASAP using the WSGA app, the GHIN app, or on https://www.wsga.org/.  You can post scores even going back to last year and it only takes 3 scores to get a valid handicap.  If you have questions regarding accessing your WSGA account and score posting, click here to go to the help page for more information.

You must post your scores after playing in the Thursday 9 Hole League.  There is the possibility that Bluegolf will have something that we can use for live scoring and score posting for leagues in 2025.

Weekly results summaries, schedules, standings, and other information can be found on the Thursday Night 9 Hole League page on the website.  Thank you for joining the league this year, contact Dave Strackbein or John Sanfelippo if you have any questions.

  • Thursday Night League 2023 Final Standings and Payout

Thanks to all of you who participated in Thursday Night league in 2023. It was a great year and it is all of you who make it that way!  The payout listed below is total for the team and it was added to the appropriate accounts several weeks ago.

    The 2023 victims of a body slam by the Relegator are;

    Team 2 – Nigh / Smith / Mclachlan
    Team 9 – Dwyer / Dwyer
    Team 5 – Schneider / Eichelberger / Eichelberger

I know it hurts like a 2×4 upside the head from Hacksaw Jim Duggan, but  don’t get mad, get even…or volunteer to run the league in 2024. That will probably hurt more than the 2×4 – the pain lasts 16 weeks.

The complete standings are available as usual on the Thursday Night League page, which also has a preliminary 2024 schedule with the division reassignments.

Have a safe winter, see you next year.
